Crazy fast mountain biker!

I had the pleasure of riding this last Thursday with this man.
http://savedbythebike.blogspot.com/

He was riding with 3in mountain bike tires aired up to 70psi. It sounded like a train as he passed me going 29....LOL. He's a nice guy and I look forward to next week. I can't let him whoop me so bad next time:-)

I wanted to check and see if my tracks for my g1 worked in tracking a ride.

Check it out. Only 40 miles at a reasonable pace. Our group is ready for the MS150. Most of us anyways...LOL.

Strawberry Century. I didn't like this ride! narrow streets, it rained all day, and support was cut short when they delayed the start an hour:-( I didn't do well performance wise either. I ended up doing 62 with John and didn't continue on to the full century as the weather sucked!!! I am sure it will be better next year. I am probably just upset about being wet too much. It seems like every century I want to do is filled with rain...LOL. Only about 45 days till the MS150 and I will do a century the first day and the 86 miler the next day.

I rode the "Bloomin' Arts Ride" in Bartow yesterday and had a good ride. I really felt good. I went 58 miles after missing the last turn toward Bartow. I still maintained an average of just over 20. This was a rather nice ride with little in the way of hills. I was surprised at how little the amount of people riding. I ride a similar route on a regular basis and it is super nice. The wind picked up a little toward the end of the ride, but the guys I was riding with were really strong. I let them pull:-)

I rode today with friends. It was nice to be back on the bike in such beautiful conditions. It was warm: about 75 degrees and little to no wind. I was steady at about 18-19 mph and slowing occasionally to stay with the friends left behind. We have a nice group of riders of all experience levels and it is nice to socialize on the move. Two riders, Tim and his wife, left off early as they needed to return. The rest of us did a little over 20 miles at a good pace. A good overall start to the season, I think!

Well, looks like I am going to have to wait until next January:-( I just finished my last year of school and with the job search, have not had the time to train. I am starting back up this weekend with a small ride, then on to more later.
